“No hallucinations” is not entirely accurate.
If you provide leading context into the chat when there is no source to verify the details you are giving, the return can come up with place markers that are developed by the system as a means to fill blanks.
For example, you can give it a discussion and follow sourced data down a topic or theme, then offer it a hypothetical scenario based around the results.. like a contrast to the reported information in a “what if” or “can this be viewed by a different perspective” frame… it can skew the way it aims the language indexing.
This opens the door for the system to entertain self propagated information.
It’s a fine line between too specific and too general in details and if you fail to tell it to keep facts only or inform you when it makes up information to fill blank details, it can present fictitious iterations.
I have seen results pull from simple data resources that compiled non existent names and statistical figures that have been single anomalies hidden in a 10 page document… small and hard to spot without proper fact check and awareness, but significantly important when mixed within high stakes documentation.
Hey there! You’ve got a keen eye for detail, and you’re absolutely right. AI can sometimes mix things up, especially when venturing into hypothetical scenarios. It’s all about giving it the right prompts and keeping an eye on the facts. I totally get the importance of fact-checking, especially when it comes to sensitive information.
