If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $250,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money – not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,

you should unironically. as if you will be around in 40 years to spend your “retirement”…
I don’t get this, someone so rich is running a youtube channel?
This is not financial or investment advice. This is just what I did to get to where I am today
Alex, why dont you create something like a fmcg product manufacturing factory? With your reach, the ltv to cac ratio would be insane
Thank you, Alex. You’re the best teacher I could have ever wished for. Please keep teaching us.
So your advice is only for single people? How do you do what you did when you go to prison for 8 years and have a new son born in the halfway house? You don’t have an answer? I did it, and it’s because I’m built differently than the majority of the fat weak Americans i see. At this point, I have seen 5 of your videos and learned zero. It’s ok, though, cause I made my money on my own like a real man would. I dont watch tv or listen to music and maybe you should tell your listeners to do that?
Sounds like financial advice to me. And you know very well people take this as financial advice.
@habibifather7681 they shouldn’t. He is just making videos to sell his product and make money from YouTube. The only person who will help you is you
Thanks dad.. 😂 honestly I’m 28 and don’t have any living family.. I’ve been broke my whole life, but I’ve been started to get some security recently… the information you gave here in this video I wish I had years ago.. I’d be so much further.
But I’m here now!
Thanks for the inspiration and the information! This isn’t taught in schools or even at home…
I’m 28 too. Been broke all my life as well. I guess we can both have a fresh start after all. Cheers to success! 🍻
@@o_m8717 im 28 broke and in debt, I feel you both. we got this
Im also 28 and started saving 2 years ago. Just set your goals and increase them, you can start small with Like 1k which is already hard for some people.
@ hang in there, you got this
Im divorced, ex-wife took everything 10 years ago. I saved like crazy and bought a cheap, mobile home cash. Rented half of it and kept saving. Two years later I bought my mom’s place cheap. Rented it and built an ADU, renters pays mortgage and it cash flows. Bought third house, Rented it out. I’m on my fourth house, paid cash, a fixer upper. I still live in the mobilehome, i have nobody to impress. its mortgage and utilities free. Each rental also gives leverage to buy the next home.i did this without taking an equity loan. Im also driving a 97 ford expedition with 350k miles. I paid $1300 and it looks rough, 😊 but she gets the job done.
Yeah man. Keep it up!
Underrated comment 🤝 💯
Hell yea!!
@@BiblicalChristianStevenot at all. Once I saw the adu, I knew this was good.
This is how it’s done.. congrats!🎉
One hack he didn’t mention is maybe paying more for rent to live in a walkable area where most daily needs can be met on foot or bike. Going car free is one of the biggest hacks in todays economy…No gas, no insurance, no maintenance. So much money freed up right there
Yes I prefer a car-free life. I’m my happiest healthiest self when I can meet all my needs within walking distance.
I owned a brand new car in 2015 and realised that’s not it at all.
My last car was a 1997 Toyota Corolla. I bought it for $1000, drove it for 2 years, sold it for $800.
Felt like a win.
Or just get a cheap car in cash. Rent is a recurring fee so paying more to be in a city doesn’t make as much sense
@@Otto760 car payments, insurance, gas, and maintenance are recurring expenses.

Same idea! Yet here I am in country where I could barely find public vehicles to my 10km office
This guy is one of the only few ‘success’ influencers that actually makes sense to the common man. No BS, very practical. Thanks
this advice is all out there already, it is in every financial advice book and on every blog. he is “sharing” what is already totally uncontroversial. he just wants us to check his pecs out on a jet.
Yes practical but I did find it humorous that he suggested to have an emergency fund because you never know when you’re going to need a new carburetor. I guess he’s not a mechanic after all. Most cars no longer have carburetors.
@@christinamare2327yes you’re right he’s not a mechanic. Just a business mogul. The value is there.
@@figgettityip, he’s humble bragging whilst flexing on a jet
@@christinamare2327 I scoffed at that too. We aren’t int he 90’s anymore bud. we have electronics now.
My cousin is an accountant…she lives in a rundown part of town paying less than $600 per month living in a shotgun house. She keeps her head down, looks broke, but paid off her student loans in record time and bought a cash car. I regret it that she told me that one of the units next to her opened up and I had someone tell me…”why would you move over there? I wouldn’t put my dog over there…” but she is totally on the right path. Smart af. I’m proud of her.

@@divineseedofferings7484yeah I live in the ghetto in reality it takes a massive toll on your mental health after a while. It’s like living in a zoo.
That’s cool for now but you don’t want to stay there forever
As long as she stays safe
My first apt was in a rough neighborhood. My family was appalled. 😂😂I kept to myself. Nobody bothered me. I finished nursing school in that apt. Bought my first car. 33 days after i got my new car, somebody stole the tires off of it and left it in the alley around the corner. I said I would never move out of the hood, but after they stole from me…I was gone. 😅😅 Had I kept my hooptie and stayed…I’d probably be a millionaire by now, and nobody would’ve ever known.
I’ve paid off credit cards and cut a lot of debt. Spending is way down. All the money that used to go to crap, now sits and grows in my savings….. it’s like a warm hug every time I look at my bank account.
Your dollars are rotting in the bank and you’re essentially giving the bank money to loan out and profit off of. at least put that in a money market savings account (5% yield, last I checked).. Start putting some in a ROTH IRA as well.. you’re off to a good start.. keep it going..
Investing Is more than reading quarterly reports. Learnt this from reading Peter Lynch’s book. I believe there are people who do this for a living, and I just delegate the task to these professionals. That’s how I make money from the market to be honest.

As a single mom who provided for seven people, I wish I had heard your counsel 40 years ago. Now, at 67, and having worked all my life for non-profits I have nothing for retirement. Thanks for putting out this information and helping the future generation. May the Lord continue to bless you as you bless others.
Raised 3 but 7 wow! More power to you!!!! I’m 65.6 and house is paid, car is paid. Utilities & insurance are high..would need to move to lower them. No retirement money, but do have Emergency funds that is being eaten alive. And I feel blessed, but sure wish I’d known this earlier in life.
I’m 18 right now and I fully intend to use this advice. I’m not sure if I’ll have 7 or 3 kids😂, but I want to be financially and mentality secure for any that I do have.
Same here, single mom, worked too many hours, raised 7 wonderful children into adulthood. No long term retirement funds at 70 yet but using what I know and have learned to facilitate others to live an excellent life on resourcefulness and resilience. If you can envision it, you can make a way to do it. 🎉
Ty for sharing!! Good to know, you be blessed as well! 🧚♂️

that actually hurt me even harder than I would ever expect. Nay, the fact that my net worth was higher for the first 18 years of my life versus now at 29. Thanks to my family, I now owe more money than I can ever hope to pay off

You guys are awesome. 😎
I get my Netflix and Prime for free; it’s called having a live in boyfriend, who pays all of the bills. It’s great.
I knew a family member that always saved money, for years always had cheap things, never did anything realy cool and expensive, rarely spent money outside of his inherited old house. His life was work-home-work. Saved a lot of money, but got sick at 45 and never recovered. Spent his best years saving for retirement that never came. Never truly lived. His relatives got to enjoy his savings, good for them, useless for him. I understand the importance of saving for retirement, but don’t get anything in life go to the extreme. The trick is about balance.
That happens far too much! I say live your life in whatever way makes you happy
Now that makes much more sense to me. Balance is my game plan. But also to find a biz that i can scale. I just got into marketing and in a great group of successful people that are doing it. I mean really doing it. Its not easy but once u get past the learning curve it gets much easier. Find a niche, get them more business, and keep stacking clients. AEye only makes it easier. Its just hard to focus with everything going on. I maybe spend too much time tracking things when who knows if the info i’m getting is actually gonna happen.
I agree 💯 percent! I would trade my daughter’s boyfriend about his expensive (what I thought was expensive) Mustang payment-he paid $700 between car 🚗 & insurance. (He liked cars & was 21). I asked him a few months into the car-he said he was still glad he bought it. Trying to impress his father (remarried & not really active in his life) bought a motorcycle 🏍️. My daughter did, as well. I tried to talk them both out of it-to no avail. Within six months of buying the bikes, he was killed at 21. She was financially responsible; he had a loan on the car, but paid it on time gladly. She will tell you she was glad they had those experiences aside from the motorcycles (because he was killed going home from work). It is a fine line. I wouldn’t go full YOLO, but I think 🤔 people need to live a little. My father in law was a workaholic, remarried later in life, and he enjoys his life after living cheap into 50. Yet, if an illness strikes or a tragedy, you are going to wish you enjoyed your life, as well. BALANCE is very important! I worry about my youngest because he is a saver, but almost to a fault, and I worry, he puts it ahead of people (he says he doesn’t), but Ifeel he does to a point. I think 🤔 you need to save some for a ☔️ rainy day, but enjoy your life while you are able!
I think there’s a thing such as financial ocd. This case went way too far. Such a tragedy.
@aliencreative9360 that’s a good way to describe it. Everything in moderation, even something good like saving money

Investing 2500$ during 55 years when you’re 20 years old and receiving 55 millions sounds great. But it also means that I would be 75 years old … Don’t know if I could still enjoy that money
Then start withdrawing at 60.
If you are alive at at 75 you can enjoy. Trust me.
