It’s my first time back to vlogging after having my second baby and I’m sharing what it really looks like getting back into writing. As a mom of two, finding time, energy, and focus to write again hasn’t been easy—but I’m figuring it out one small step at a time. If you’re a writer, author, or creative mom trying to balance motherhood and your passions, I hope this gives you encouragement and realistic insight into writing with a newborn (and a toddler).

Love your food prepping idea and would love to hear more about what you did/do before and after your pregnancy. This is good info not just for pregnancy, but for say going to surgery and rehab recovery, taking a long time away from work and coming back, taking care of another for a length of time, and other challenges life likes to throw at you. Your videos are really informative, not just about writing but also about your life as a writer. Writers live while writing, but they exclude it in their conversations as if it were a taboo topic. So glad you don’t. Hang in there gal!!
Thanks so much! And I’d love to share more about postpartum/my recovery in a future video! ✨
Yes, please on those videos! They’d be so helpful!
I’d also love to see more vlogs! I love watching them!
The videos are in the works!
Major kudos and hugs! I love that you are editing because it’s helping and not because you feel like you “must do it all” because that’s just such a different of rejuvenation vs added stress. Not saying editing is easy but the way you are approaching all of it is just rockstar.
Thank you so much!
I had a homebirth with my second child and it was what the midwife referred to as a “freight train birth.” It was three hours from start to end of labor, an absolute blur. Barely had time to fill the birthing pool lol
Those second births are wild 😅 that’s what mine turned into once I got into the birthing tub
Bless you. I have gone down the rabbit hole of first-time authorship as a retiree, Your videos have been life-savers for getting me through the process. I pray you find the balance you need and deserve.
So glad you’re enjoying the videos!
I just published my first book targeted at people who can’t read. It is 101 pages. My problem is all the pages are blank. Will this matter when selling it on kindle? Do they pay by page or word??
Kindle pays based on page reads if you’re in the Kindle Select Program. Otherwise it pays based on number of books sold. If it’s blank pages (like a notebook) it’s considered a low content book and will be best sold as a print book.
Such a great video!
Thank you!!
Awww . . . 7 weeks is a blink of an eye after growing a little human. Congratulations, Mandi! Also, I LOVE positive birth stories. My mother was a midwife, so I grew up with lots of those and it’s important from women to hear those. ❤
It’s going by so fast! Which I’m both thankful for and sad about. Love the little snuggles 🥰
The desk swt up is genius. Definitely stealing when i am blessed with a baby
