    1. Thanks for sharing! May I ask if you are running goal setting workshop this year? I think many people and I would love to join! @aliabdaal

  1. Setting systems to achieve things in the longer run is the best thing i’ve done in my life. “If you have to go longer set systems, not goals”.

  2. VISION-GOALS-Projects-Tasks-HABITS show up daily to make it real big. Add journaling for more clarity and review of progress

  3. Don’t Trust your systems too much tho,

As a first year medical student I devised a system throughout the 1st year, and then it was near perfect…

near the end of first year, during say the final chapters, the teachers changed their methods… so my system failed….

u also need to be mentally prepared to handle a system failure… i was not then…
Had to create a new system… but as i wasn’t mentally prepared I had to go through stages of grief and it took a lot of time until i realized that i have to change my systems…

always have room for some flexibility and be ready to rewire the entire system and don’t hesitate much just because it took you say 1 year to build a perfectly working system that works for you….

    Kudos, amigos!!

p.s : that also doesn’t mean that you keep on changing the systems, again and again when it’s not working… make small changes, take one step at a time and allow a specific system some time as justice and see if it works… if it doesn’t work try exhausting it and see if pushing things a bit makes it work, it will help you even more in finding better alternatives…

    1. @@LIITOGYKIGA process (or list of steps) that you commit to following to allow for the most effective way to achieve a goal.
Of course some may have a better definition, but thought I’d give you something that may help now. 💖

    2. @@LIITOGYKIG yah, successformation basically summed it up pretty good…

basically when u are in academics or anything basically u notice that some things work and some things don’t and based on that u develop a process(list of steps) which works say in almost every situation, so u start depending on the process…

    3. Yes! This. When life chucks a cannonball at you, systems tend to blow up. I am not inherently a resilient person, so this is a big problem for me.

  4. 1)Write them down
    2)Look at them every week
    3)Monitor your progress
    4)Visualise obstacles
    5)Tie them to an identity

  5. As a mature woman it brings me great joy to watch young people inspire others. Today I have watched Ali and Ivan From Notion with Simon from Better Creating. Young men who help others do things more easily. Young men who inspire, young men who aspire. Ali got me out of a very dark hole a few years ago and now I need to learn something new each day. I love the humility of these exceptionally bright young men. Most of all I love how both Ali and Ivan fiddle with their wedding rings😂😂

  6. Sometimes I wonder if people who are highly motivated will achieve their goals with or without these 5 things, while people with low motivation won’t achieve their goals even if they try to do these 5 things. There seems to be an unlimited amount of content online intended to help people achieve goals, which makes me think none of these systems are actually working that well. If they did, we wouldn’t need to keep talking about this subject so much.

    1. I think people lie to themselves what their real goals are. A lot of people, deep down, their real goal is a steady job, hot meals, loving family, and leisurely weekends. That’s it.

But they were thought to aim higher, to get career not job, to have big house big cars big dreams. They were deemed not adequate as a human being just being happy to be as leisurely as cats and dogs.

Ultimately though, these are not their real goal. That’s why there is no real motivation. They already achieved what they actually want to achieve with minimal effort if they live in first world countries.

    2. I think sometimes people fall into the habits of life and lose track of what their goals are. Daily struggles tend to take up the majority of our focus. Videos like these serve as a reminder to refocus and bring back the motivation that’s been loosely floating in the back of your mind.

    3. I think there are a small percentage of people like Ali who are extremely motivated, high energy, and creative who will achieve their goals regardless of the obstacles. Then like you said some people will not have the energy or motivation regardless of the goal setting techniques. However I do think there are people in the middle that will achieve not all but more of their goals by following some motivation techniques and daily reminders. I would include myself in that middle group as I find I achieve much more when I make concrete goals and remind myself often… but without the reminders get easily distracted from my goals.

    4. @@syasyaishavingfunWow, I’ve never thought about it that way. And you’re so on point.

  7. 1. Goal Setting Importance:
Writing down goals increases the likelihood of achieving them by 42%, according to research.
    2. Weekly Review:
Regularly reviewing goals helps activate the brain’s reticular activating system, keeping goals top of mind.
    3. Progress Monitoring:
Tracking progress through simple methods like weekly check-ins can greatly improve goal attainment.
    4. Quarterly Goals:
Focusing on three to four quarterly goals is more effective than overwhelming oneself with annual goals.
    5. Practical Tools:
Utilizing apps and journaling can aid in organizing and monitoring goals effectively.

  8. What amazes me about youtube is how we grow through different content creators, we come seeking and they provide what we are looking for from what they are passionate about.

And then we get to a point and we have outgrown a certain content creator..or our heart has exhausted what it came seeking for ie graduated this content creators channel, currently for me its Ali’s channel..i feel i got what i cam here for and i am very pleased,

Now im in a season that calls for a different kind of content, slow living… and im so fascinated at how the diversity of youtube creators beautifully shapes us.

Thank you Ali..i dont know if ill be back but trust me..your content has grown me into an amazing person..and im grateful❤

    1. Always a season. Now Ali’s teachings are in your ‘toolbox’ so when/if you’re back in the productivity mode, you’ll have that knowledge to use or pass on. Enjoy your new phase! ✨💖✨

  9. After achieving my main life goals, what i realize at 64 is that ENJOYING the journey to the goals is what is most important. Have fun. Share love. Be discerning about energy. Blessings to all ❤.

    1. definetly thanks for sharing such a wonderful perspective on life’s journey! It kinda reminds me of the ultimate gift of love through Jesus Christ. He died for our sins and rose again, offering us forgiveness and eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Because of Him, we can experience true joy and peace, not just in our journey but forever. Blessings to you! ❤”

  10. “You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.” – James Clear

    1. Something tells me James Clear was reading Greek poetry at some point.
Archilochus, a Greek poet and soldier said “We don’t rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training.”

  11. I am 20 years old, turning 21 next year. I have always written goals, but never thought “why don’t I keep looking at them?”. Thank you for this insightful video, this helped a lot!

    1. Im 44, some unsolicited advice since you’re here watching.. do as much as you can sooner than later… as time went on, i have less energy and less time to do stuff since life gets in the way.. this the the time you have the most time and least responsibility… go get em! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 happy birthday!

  12. 1) Write down your list of goals (42% improvement) – Annual Goals/Quarterly Quests/Weekly Priorities
    2) Revise your goals (every week/day) – weekly reset/daily check-ins
    3) Monitor your progress (how is it going? – on track/off track +/- plan; by quantity)
    4) Visualise Obstacles and plan for them (Woop method – What could go wrong? What to do about it?)
    5) Tie goals to your identity (Who am I by archieving my goals?)

–> How many goals are too many?

    1. In the video he says he prefers quarterly goals; he calls them “quests” and suggests no more than 4 “quests” per quarter.

    2. @@ianluluthe human brain can only track 3to 7 items at a time. That’s why phone numbers are 7 digits. Anything more and you just get overwhelmed. What is something interesting you are working on?

  13. 12:59 internally deciding i was “a journal person” was what clicked when it came to making consistent journaling happen for me. it’s not a chore or something i’m forcing myself to do, it’s a part of who i am in my day to day life.

  14. I feel like one of the most effective ways to complete your goals is to go out and experience.. Do what your heart desires and have your intentions your goals in the back of your mind while doing so. Fall fast and fail early. Instead of watching YouTube videos that you’re probably not going to remember because you’re not watching them in a studying format, Go out into the world, ask for what you want, and respond. But you have to be willing to move..

    1. This! I think the turning point is when you decide to take action and utilize the road map that your journal entries paint for you. If you are honest with yourself in your journal entries, your next steps in life are painted for you. Start trying things that you find important!

  15. Hi, I came across this video as I was doing my research for my next cover project. I’m a master clarinetist who has loved the pursuit of content creation but there are huge gaps in my content uploads due to the sheer amount of life and career commitments (I almost said obstacles lol) in my day-to-day approaches. After my battery runs empty, I often find myself in a space of unwilling motivation to get what I want to accomplish and sometimes pours into my career priorities. Just wanted to say thank you for the helpful advice and I will be attempting to apply this to my routine starting today! -MT 🎵🙌

  16. Just saying that promoting your own product is like the coolest thing ever. You made this book on your own, that’s so amazing. I wasn’t even bothered by the actual ad.

  17. I am literally watching a video about being productive while procrastinating being productive.

  18. Monitoring progress is usually where I lose steam, so lately I’ve just set up a quick checklist in pneumatica workflow and move on—works better than I expected.

  19. Connecting goals to identity is so important. Characters in Wisebits stories do it all the time, making their journeys feel so real and relatable.
