The only things better than the info in this video, are the Fiddle Leafs in the background. Bravo!👏
Ha thanks! They’re slowly taking over…
I’ll add some more from my own experience.
Keywords in business name – Wes correctly mentioned that it is against Google guidelines to use those. Yes, and if your competitor is doing this, you can do something about that. Just edit their listing, Google will usually accept your change. Worked 8/10 times.
Are you not appearing in Google Maps, due to the competiton sharing the same address? According to Google guidelines you can differentiate your address by adding a door number or a floor (in case of a multi-level building) in to the address field. It truly does help.
Thx for those additions!
Great insight. What if the legal business name truly has the keywords. Will google still generally approve the change?
@crypwalk7753 don’t fraudulently change their listing. Only remove what they’re doing to keyword stuff. You can’t change Google to Poodle if you want to rank for Google lol
@@gravity_au Geez man, lol. I was looking at it in terms of our newly filed company. The company has keywords in the legal name, although the words literally describe what we do.
@@crypwalk7753 the “keywords in business name” trick would be something like: Bob’s Plumbing putting their business name as Bob’s Manhattan Plumbing. If you see a competitor doing this and you know it’s not their actual business name, you can suggest an edit to correct it.
If those keywords are part of the actual business entity name, then you can keep it and it’s not against terms of use.
SEO nerd here. Can confirm, this video is legit 💪 No disagreements on the rankings here.
Only thing I would add is for reviews. With clients, I always try to stress the recency of reviews, as well as the importance of a steady influx (rather than bursts).
Solid video, Wes 🙏
Good point, that’s smart!
This video is excellent, went straight online and made loads of changes to my website and Google business profile. Thank you.
Glad this was helpful!
any improvements?
I’ve been trying to figure out what your perfect website packages looked like for $10k. Your channel is the best resource for entrepreneurs like myself! You’ve helped raise the bar, thank you. I want to eventually get to where you are now, but for now would love to have website packages like you once had. Where people could just buy it for a set price. Just need to figure out the best way of doing that.
Hint: to sell a web package for $10K you’ll need to learn about discovery – where you meet with the client a few times and understand their business. Selling stuff like this isn’t a commodity – it’s a customized approach, which Wes does really well. A website isn’t a cost of doing business, it’s an investment. You have to help prospects see that through multiple interactions with them. Hope this helps/makes sense. 👍🏽
The quality of information and production of this video is so great. Thank you Wes for being awesome!
I appreciate that!
Applying the strategies mentioned in the video can certainly help improve your local business’s ranking on Google. Remember, it’s all about consistency and quality.
I’m a photographer using a service area (no physical location), I appear at the top with appropriate key word search only if you search near my physical location, despite using service area with no address listed.
yeah, they stink with mobile service operators like you and me, still showing my home address too which I have repeatedly tried to get it to be hidden. I gave up
Unfortunately, the designated service areas aren’t going to help much, as they still see your physical address as the center of your service area. Meaning that you are still likely to get better rankings, closer to your physical address, even though the public doesn’t see it. Keep doing all the things mentioned, and your influence radius will expand
BEST GBP VIDEO I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. You put everything so easy to understand. Thanks for this gem of a video.
