This is great and all, but in the end, it doesn’t achieve anything to stop your work from being used to train AI models. Most AI models are being trained from databases of published books. The federal courts have deemed this legal so long as the AI doesn’t reproduce your published work directly. It’s sorta like how board games work. A company can use identical mechanics to a board game like Chutes and Ladders or Monopoly, but they can not reproduce the game exactly so dice, pieces, and squares on the board are all permitted to be used, but the game itself using these elements must be unique and original. Thus, just like a human writing a story trying to copy their favorite authors writing style, an AI model learns the same way. But it doesn’t keep a database of your books itself.
Nerdy Novelist actually put up a video discussing this. I know you don’t like AI writing, but I figure if you’re going to speak against it, you might be interested in having the information from their side as well.

@@Ellarian_Liara Would it? How does simply telling a person that something doesn’t matter help them? It doesn’t clarify why it doesn’t matter. It’s actually being very vague and comes off more like trolling rather than actually contributing to the conversation. I’ve had people do this to me, and personally, it does nothing except dismiss the person as an idiot who just comments brainlessly out of gut reaction. Granted, we cannot write a novel for a comment, but taking the time to formulate a longer response shows your thoughts are more than just a simple trolling and worth more of a read than a short one-liner.
