IngramSpark has made several updates and announcements in a recent email. Effective May 1st, they have introduced the following changes:
1. Free Title Setup: Authors can now set up new book titles on IngramSpark for free, eliminating the need for coupons or fees.
2. Free Corrections (within the first 60 days): Authors can make corrections to their books within the first 60 days after approval without incurring additional fees.
3. Flat Shipping Rate for the US: IngramSpark is introducing a new flat shipping rate for the United States, although specific details are not discussed in the video.
Additionally, starting July 1st, IngramSpark will implement a Global Marketing Fee, where they will receive 1% of the retail price of each book sold. This fee will apply to every book sold through IngramSpark.
The video discusses the implications of these changes, such as the potential benefits for pre-ordering paperback books and the impact of the Global Marketing Fee on author royalties. The narrator shares her thoughts on these updates and invites viewers to share their opinions in the comments.

Thanks for the info Mandi. I think it’s good news but there are always negatives but I’ll take it. I have my debut novel coming out this year so this is just in time for me.??
Lately, I’ve been using KDP for my Ya books but I think I’ll try ingramspark for my middle grade.
I think with those royalty rates, I’ll still say “nahhhh”
I have a question. Can changes be made to an existing book on Kindle/Amazon? I up loaded my book and I see an improvement that can be made in the text and I would like a better cover. Thanks!!
they were dropping free upload promocodes every month or three and cough cartelized cough market keep these words very much on the download
Thanks for the update Mandi! I sent IngramSpark a second email last week begging them to upgrade their printing to include satin or gloss for interior pages. As a fine art artist, my work looks horrible on just premium paper with no sheen. I know because I printed a test copy with B&N and was so disappointed, even using their best premium paper. I didn’t realize before I started this book journey that satin or gloss interior pages were not available among the biggest names with a wide reach like IngramSpark, KDP, and B&N Press(which uses IngramSpark to print). The alternatives like Lulu, 48Books, and Mixam all fall short in one way or another, either due to price or distribution. I will keep my fingers crossed that IngramSpark will now finally offer an option for art/photography book printing that we can be proud to show off. Love your videos, thanks again!
Thank you for sharing this. I’ve switched from KDP to Ingram because of this very reason. My proof copy of my illustrated children’s book came out with what I paid for at KDP: brilliant and colorful. After that, all copies were fuzzy. With this new upgrade beginning July 1, I may wait to publish. Or I may publish before hand using the top qulaity color they have now and see if it is better than KDP.
I would just like to acknowledge and appreciate this video, and the quick turnaround on it, as a prime example of audience-aware content lol.
I’ve said before (I think even in comments on some previous videos of yours!) that in my opinion Ingram Spark _really_ toes that line between self-publishing platform and vanity press, mostly because of their excessive fees. This definitely feels like they might be recognizing that and stepping away from it a bit, which is interesting, but it definitely doesn’t go far enough to make them my top choice.
Thanks for the quick share. I would never have known this were it not for you.
this might not be the best…theyre now charging for the global distribution which i think is the most valuable thing about ingramspark
Thanks for this!
They need to do more than this before I would go near them. Too many bad vibes.
I appreciate this Mandy! I received the same email and I’m excited also! I’m going through the process to print with I.S. for my children’s illustrated book because KDP continued to print fuzzy illustrations after one perfect brilliant [what I paid for] quality colorful proof. I’m also noticing this last week that I receive prompt attention by email to my questions at I.S. Things are changing with them and so far for the good.
I received the email about a week ago, and I may have overlooked this answer, but does this include hardcover and ebooks as well?
Interesting! Yue watched this with me and she said she approves as long as she gets cuddles. ?
