Are you looking for an alternative to Kindle Direct Publishing? Or perhaps you're looking to print special editions of your books that aren't typically available to self-published authors? Today I'm doing a step-by-step tutorial on how to self-publish your book through BookVault and also use their Bespoke features that include foiled covers, custom end papers, and sprayed edges. In fact, I just printed a deluxe edition of my book with all these features. I've tried many print-on-demand companies at this point: KDP, IngramSpark, Barnes and Noble Press, and Draft2Digital. None have as many features and options as BookVault. In this tutorial, we'll go over the uploading process, file prep, and how to order copies of your book.

Question – what if you don’t have photoshop or any other photo program?
I created my hardbook cover (not bespoke – yet) in Canva. Although I have paid you can do so much in the free version!

This is so helpful! I just published my first book (yay!) and the only printer / distributor that could do my inside garden & dog photography justice was Bookvault UK! The only downside is they don’t have US Distribution (yet) except through my website (via shopify) and they do print and distribute for Amazon. If you know how to distribute to retailers using Bookvault UK please let us know! I was intrigued by the Bespoke idea but wasn’t sure what to do so this was such a great review! Thanks!

Thanks Mandy.This was a great help to me. I am very new to self-publishing except via KDP however I have now set up a couple of books in Book Vault, without any bespoke features. I am trying to improve the appearance of one of those and decided to try end papers.
I am old enough to remember with fondness some books from my younger days with lovely marbled end papers, though I don’t think I gave the book aesthetics much thought in those days.
To cut to the chase, I set everything up for the new edition but when I got to the end papers upload section I was expecting that Book Vault would be offering some optional designs! I had to contact their customer services to learn that I was mistaken in that and hence started to research commercially available end paper patterns. That was when I stumbled on your excellent video and learned a whole lot more about bespoke book designs. Unfortunately I don’t have your skills with Adobe softwares so I’ll be sourcing my designs commercially but it is good to have found your channel. Thanks very much for your help.
PS, I’m in the UK so shipping costs from Book Vault are not such an issue for me.
