She’s Not Here is the worst book I’ve ever written. Not because I think so, but because a small handful of people thought so. When it comes to book reviews, people either loved it or hated it. Which brings up a great point: not everyone is going to love your book, and that’s okay! So let’s discuss how to handle negative book reviews as an author…

Title: The Worst Book I’ve Ever Written… And Some Readers Love It
Search terms: bad book reviews, dealing with negative book reviews, worst book ever
Sounds like an interesting story. I ordered a copy.
Thank you so much!
When it comes to writing, I believe one thing: Perfection won’t stop em. I’ll use a different field to highlight this simple belief. You can draw a perfect circle. People will criticize it for being a perfect circle.
So true!
This reminds me of the Great Gatsby. It was so hated at the time that it was left out of the Author’s obituary, and it talked about how he never measured up to his potential. Now it’s a classic.
Out of all of your books, and I’ve read them all, this one, She’s Not Here” is still my favorite!!! It’s fiction and I believe it could be an incredible movie!! It’s an amazing story!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I may not relate at a publishing standpoint, as I havent published anything yet. But I have written stories (and printed them out) that I am not proud of it, and cringe a little at. Even hate, of how bad the story was. But that is the point of growing as an author, you keep continuing to write more and better stories, as you go on. And it can give you nostalgia, looking back, at when you first started writing it. so, you aren’t alone, Mandi Lynn 🙂
I have been curious about the book, but haven’t brought it yet. But the way you speak about the book reminds me about a book I wrote about schizophrenia and I gifted a copy to an ex-friend. At the time she read it, I had just lost a pet so I wasn’t in a great mental health state. She never told me she dnf the book, but I found the review on Goodreads where she insulted the book, judging the typos that my editor and I missed. But I’m still proud of the book and have gotten good reviews by others
