2. I’m a plus user and it sucks. It doesn’t listen and if you ask it to confirm it understands before running it rarely does. Then I follow up asking did you do as I requested. Then it agrees it didn’t and then tell it to do it and still does it wrong. Frustrating!!

      Make it tell you what it understands and then follow up with rules that it misinterpreted or skimmed over. I spent 7 hours on it last night and I got to know my agent very well.

Why is this YouTuber and everybody else ignoring the fact that we use ChatGPT 4.0 or 5.0 and you give it a word file to read and then do the prompted improvements and changes that it gives you back is either an empty word file or the exact same file you gave it to begin with and receive no changes?

6. So far it’s broken my heart. Screwed up long running projects, forgets what the conversation is, answers completely different questions, resets itself when you confirm you want it to do the thing it just asked you, “would you like to…..”

   1. Has also completely screwed up two projects I was trying with it that could have been done better than a 4th grader with two weeks worth of computer experience. I have never really looked into the other ai platforms but now actively trailing them out this is a huge flop so as soon as I see i can comfortably replace ChatGPT I will end my subscription.

11. I think the success of GPT5 depends on whether you have an existing business using the older models or not and then if the functionality works on the new GPT5. I work with a few businesses that are really struggling to make their business work on GPT5 that used to work on the older models. To just stop the availability of the older models (excl 4o) is poor service and thought for the current customer base from openai.

    1. You can still choose to use the legacy models. So the availability of older models didn’t stop.

    2. Tried software creation debugging….. After a couple of attempts it went off in a totally different mode. Useless.

13. Glad it’s working for you but for a lot of people it hasn’t been very smooth. I do think if companies or businesses are going to embrace this thing they need to isolate it to make one of their own so when these models update it doesn’t break the way things currently work. It’s the same reason I don’t trust package management and lock versions down because one patch/fix/update could break a codebase.

14. My ChatGPT experience has gone from obsession to disappointment. Lost 5 GPT’s usually when almost complete, forcing restarts , re-education etc. One gave 6 corrupted links, wasting days on a simple task, then vanished. This was despite extreme file saving/security efforts. Currently stuck in temporary chat, unable to complete a necessary cleanup taking 15+ hours to troubleshooting 8-10 GPTs and other AIs. The “best” part: 2 weeks for a reply and a 30-day wait for assistance? There is more but I must get back to 5 we got months of work to do!!

15. The biggest problem I’ve had with version 4 is when I leave the conversation, and then come back and trying picking things up from where I left off. For example, let’s say I want to create a dozen articles this month on a topic. After a bit of brainstorming and back and forth, I come up with (with ChatGPT’s help) a dozen article ideas and outlines. These will be long-form articles of at least 1,500 – 2,000 words. Let’s say I create 4 articles in a single session, and then sign off for the day. When I come back to that same conversation, sometimes ChatGPT forgets what articles I’ve written. Instead of starting with the next one on the list, it thinks up something new. Other times, it wants to write the same article it has already written. To solve this, I use a plug that allows me to export all of the pages and posts names and links and upload those into the Chat. That’s what it takes to get things back on target. Hopefully, version 5 eliminates this problem.

18. I use it constantly, but honestly, version 5 feels far more buggy. It’s slower and the response quality isn’t close to what it used to be. I use it 100+ times a day, and if you look at others’ sentiment, it doesn’t seem I’m alone. Glad it’s working well for you, but for me it’s just hype.

20. I’m SO glad they returned the option for 4o. Sheesh! 5 is NOT GOOD. Felt like we stepped back into the 2023 versions. 4o is my best assistant so far.
