  1. Hell yeah love the vid, direct, right to the point. I have absolutely 0 plans to publish a book.

  2. So I know the soft cover needs the same ISBN, but do the hardcovers use the same ISBN on both sites? They have such a different hardcover. Also can you use the same internal files for all 4? Thanks

    1. Most of the time, yes you can use the same ISBN. But I wouldn’t recommend it since the editions would be so different. I and you need to communicate to readers what their hardcover will look like

    2. @@MandiLynnWrites Thanks for getting back to me. What about the internals? Do you use 1 print internal file for everything and then 1 ebook internal file? Or do you have to do multiple per site and per cover

  3. I think (Correct me if I am wrong) it might be necessary to tell new authors that this means you have to pay for and use your OWN ISBN (not the free one that KDP will offer) and you have to choose the proper KDP contract… not the one that you get the higher profits per sale – which is the KDP exclusive deal) The “free ISBN” That KDP offers locks you into only selling at Amazon as far as I know.

    1. You are correct that using free ISBNs makes that ISBN exclusive to that print on demand company. But since this was a short, it was a bit too complicated to include that. I have a full video on free vs paid ISBNs

  4. Hi, could you tell me please if the trim sizes need to be the same? I’ve published on KDP already but the trim size isn’t available on Ingram. So can I still publish but use an available trim size?
