Create a Productive Writing Schedule With Me // In the month of November (and part of October) I plan on writing 80,000 words…while also being the primary parent for my ten-month-old daughter. Do I sound crazy yet? I haven't even accomplished this type of writing goal without a baby, so how the heck do I plan on accomplishing it with a baby? Well, that's exactly what we'll be talking about in today's video. We're going to be talking about how I plan on writing an entire novel in one month, creating a writing schedule and writing routine, and hopefully by the end of all this, a finished novel! And as a mom, I'll also be sharing a few tips along the way.

The only time I could write is on the weekends because I have work during the week. I get up at 5am to get ready and then leave my house at 5:47 to catch my first bus to Spokane’s downtown to catch my second bus to get to work which is out in airway heights and on the Fairchild Air Force Base. I work for a company called Skils’kin which is going to be called Skookum next year. And I don’t get off till 2:53 and don’t get home sometimes till 4:20 or closer to 4:45 in the afternoon so I’m gone all day long
I plan on writing book 2 of my sci-fi crime thriller series in November. 60k goal. Off to a slow start but we’ll see what the rest of the month looks like 😊 cheers.
Wow so impressive!!! I might try to do the same over school holidays at the end of the year, because I homeschool my young one. I have been disappointed that I haven’t been able to write as much as I’d hoped after publishing my first book in May – hopefully the school holidays at the end of the year which are about 6 weeks long in Australia, is where I can set an ambitious goal like this! In the meantime I’ll be thinking of you and wishing you all the best for November!!!! 😀
I love your planners! I can’t wait to see your new one! ❤❤❤❤
For my birthday, I want Mandi Lynn to read and rate my book called Parallel Convergence by T.L. Tullous.
I’ve only recently found your channel in the past day and I’ve instantly come to love it. I’m working on a fanfiction for nanowrimo this yearr rather than a novel (which to some doesn’t count as a nanowrimo project but too bad to them.)
I’ve always ceebrated a nanowrimo win by buying a winner shirt off the website but since I’m not doing an official nanowrimo this year, I haven’t’ been able to decide what to buy as my prize; I’m hoping now that I’ll be able to buy something from your store!
Typical NANOWRIMO. 50 thousand words
That’s so ambitious but yet so do-able. I’ll be happy if I finish 50k. Are you officially participating in NaNoWriMo?
No, I no longer support the organization
Wow a brave goal, but I’m rooting for you 😀
Go you! I’ve just started trying to get myself more organized and scheduled for all writing and publishing tasks! Kinda procrastinating (I probably need your sweatshirt 😂!) and maybe a visual schedule will motivate me to. I’m halfway through my third book and not sure why I just can’t jump back into writing! But I have a feeling it’s all the publishing tasks that have to happen too (marketing/promoting) along with a demanding day job out of the house.
Good luck! It was hard for me to get back into writing after having my daughter. This is my 11th NANOWRIMO. I’m going for it even though I’m torn between making the lead character be male or female this time.
My typical novels are 150k. My issue is always cutting 🤣🤣🤣
Also, I just gave book 2 to my editor, so I’m taking Nov & Dec off 😅
Your channel has been subscribed. We comment on Urdu books from Pakistan. Also give us any good suggestions on how to reach more people with our comment. thank you
I love the “I just want to” part. That’s hard for some people (me included) to say. It’s empowering to hear others say it. After all, it’s creativity, not a weapon.
I don’t have a word count goal for the next month, but I plan to have my book beta reader ready by 10 June 2025. It’s based on my life and helps me recall memories, so it takes me time. I know what’s going into the story now, so I hope to finish writing it over the next couple of months. So far, “The Hijacking of the Witch,” an adult dark psychological fantasy, has 60,581 words. My debut novel ended up at around 111K words, so I think this one will be about the same length. It’s a prequel to my debut, going back to when the character learns she has a tough life ahead.
Thanks for being one of the video-cheerleaders during my writing process. 🙂
