Back my Kickstarter while you can:
Come to my book release party for Revenge in Rome:
Earlier this week I did a book signing event with 60+ authors. Because this event was so big, it had a lot of potential, but with an event with this many authors…sometimes the market gets a little competitive. If you’re going to have 60+ authors, then you need a LOT of foot traffic at the event to sell books. So I was doubtful. But watch the book signing vlog to see how it went!

I told Brittany last week how I love and appreciate your book event vlogs and transparency. I’m someone who doesn’t sell many books at events, only having one book published so far. So to see how real you are with your sales is much appreciated! Hope you sell lots at the holiday market. ❤
I honestly wish more people talked about how many books they sell at events because I’m sitting here like “Is this normal? Is this a lot? Am I doing something wrong to sell my books?”
The manner in which the authors were sitting makes no difference. It’s the same amount of space. Did you not check the QR code when proofing the card?
I could have sworn I did, but it was over a year ago so I’m going to assume I didn’t 😅
And I understand it would have been the same amount of space, but I could tell some people were uncomfortable squeezing in to visit my booth because they felt like they were also walking into someone else’s space 🤷♀️ Overall it was just too many people for the room in my opinion.
How do you find out about all these events?
For this event, they reached out to me. But normally I find them on Facebook and then contact them to see if they’re still looking for vendors.
I m sending this to my friends.
I did a vendor event at a mall and didn’t sell any books at all. People who show up to author events are readers, whereas shoppers at the mall weren’t for the most part. There were also lots of people who were too busy looking at their phones as they walked by, and they didn’t even notice we were there. That’s modern life!
I too have experienced the “Ill be back” looky-loos at an event – a 3-day event (convention). People came by, hear the pitch on Friday, had a conversation, said they’d come back. A huge wad of them came back Sunday morning and bought.
I have my first book fair coming up. It’ll be a signing table which we sit at for a an hour. It’s free, mostly a help to small authors who want to advertise their books. And each hour there will be about six authors, I tired to choose the most suitable time where foot traffic would be the most. I’m nervous about it. It’s my debut and don’t get me wrong I’m excited I just know I’ll have little time to talk about my book and convince them to buy it. My goal isn’t money, it would be to advertise my book. What advice would you give me to make the best of my table time? Thank I really appreciate your videos ☺️💕💕
