  1. I loved this video, mainly because it’s so realistic and encouraging. I’ve been self employed since 2019, from a job I started as a hobby (medical writing). I’ve tried so many other ideas, and the majority have failed, but like you I’ve had the 5% of ideas that have carried me through.

It’s easy to forget that as an entrepreneur because failure becomes a regular part of your work, which wouldn’t go over well in the corporate world.

    1. Exactly, there are likely going to be many failures and half starts along the way. Best of luck in everything!

  2. Oddly enough I am at that stage where I’ve tried stuff and failed and feel like a failure. Thank you for this video.

  3. Just came across your channel… love to hear about your failures and wins! I think we need to hear more like this!

    1. @@charlprop Unfortunately, nowadays there are 1,000 shovel salespeople and 10,000 people selling courses on how to make shovels!

  4. I really appreciate your transparency about the number of businesses you’ve started, how many failed, and your determination to keep trying. It was very encouraging to see that failure really is part of the journey on your way to success. The entrepreneurship journey can be lonely at times, but it’s so important to accept that and to keep moving forward.

  5. Wow dude, you and I have walked the same path for the past 20 years. Trying stuff, some works, most don’t, but you keep trying. I love the term ‘Try-apreneur’. You’ve had more success than I have, but you’ve tried more stuff than I have so you’ve inspired me to keep trying. You never truly fail anything until you stop trying it. Great video man. Keep it up, there are lots of guys like us on different levels.

  6. No wonder you succeeded, you tried so many things. Most of them failed but you continued. And now you are huge success because of all the failures. Thank you for sharing!

  7. I do not usually comment on youtube videos but I have to say; This video has the best advice on starting a business that I have ever heard. If you are not motivated by this video to try out one of your ideas, the business world is probably not for you. My hats off to you Mr. Niche Pursuits, I’m beginning my tryapreneur journey today!

    1. @@niche-pursuits I was wondering, where in your opinion is a good place to look for a software developer?

  8. I buy trailers of all types from whomever and then I either repair them, or modify them, and flip them. In the course of doing this, I have acquired five mini homes, and paid for all of them by flipping other ones which I was able to fix up. I currently have several boat trailers, utility trailers, as well as a lot of parts for sale on the Facebook market place. I have my five small mini homes on a piece of property which has just 10 RV spots which I rent year round to travelers, and I also have a storage area for people to park boats, cars, RV’s, and the like as well as I bought five connex containers that I also rent out. All in all it all pays me about 12k per month clear profit. Total value of everything is now over 500K of which is now free and clear. I did all of this just by doing what this YouTuber said, I just tried it, refined it and failed until it all retired me from the daily grind. Next up, I want to learn to use generative AI to build hundreds of small sites to try and make online money. I came here for possible ideas and maybe help. Inspiration can be found everywhere if you are willing to look.

    1. RV rentals ! : seriously would love to hear more about this. I inherited 2 acres near a state park. thought about doing RVs for travelers. You should do a channel or ebook and I would subscribe or buy.

    2. @@lundyhill3012 I have an Idea for you if you want to get started making some passive income with your property, and being near a state park you could have the perfect set-up. Here is my idea. Contact a real estate attorney, and have him create a land trust for you, and place the property in the trust. You will be the beneficiary of the trust. That isn’t an expensive matter. Some people can do them online, or you can have them done in other states as well. This frees you up from a lot of liability. Next open an LLC, it goes in the trust too. Go on IRS gov and get an EIN number for the trust. Once you have this. A few hundred dollars, go to the bank and open a business bank account in the LLC’s name. Then go to Lowe’s and Home Depot and open a credit account. This will get you established as someone seeking business credit. (None of it will be tied to your social security number) It will be in your business name. Basically, your initial start up costs should be relatively inexpensive. This is what you can do.. If the property is wooded, clear an acre then fence it off. Find your chain link fencing by advertising on the market place and erect it around say an acre, or across the front, preventing people from entering the property. Clear off a space and have it graded and compacted (or do that yourself) then bring in some #57 gravel and make a parking lot for RV, Camper, boat, or vehicle storage. Charge $125/month or calculate a daily rate for simple parking, if that is an option. You can eventually have a gate installed with a lock box, and keypad and collect payment over the phone using cash app. If you have an interstate nearby, you can use it for overnight rig parking, as well. Also, since you are near a state park, contact a company which sells Propane and Natural gas exchange bottles, and put them on your property, along with an ice dispenser which sells large bags of ice. This will require a power pole and electricity to the place, but that can be used for overhead lighting, too which will give your place an hint of safety. If you know of someone who sells utility trailers, you can also buy a few of those and rent them from the property, or even buy a few Dumpsters, as well as a trailer to haul them and have them as rentals. Turn your inheritance into a $10,000 to $20,000/month business. Eventually add a few connex trailers onsite. Find them cheap, paint them and charge $200/ month for storage. Find them online by advertising that you are looking for them, and that if they need to get rid of one you will have it removed. Have it set on concrete to keep them off the ground 8 Inches to allow water to flow under them.

This is all very doable in a six months period of time, you just have to do it. Once you get it up and going get a hotdog cart, or some produce and create a cash biz. Be consistent, persistent, and clean, and you can make bank. Remember, there are two types of people in this world. Those who create, and those who work for those who create.

  9. The most valuable thing said in this video was the final statement you share at 8:12. “Trying your ideas is a faster way to test them than doing a bunch of market research”.

  10. Yes! As a writer people often ask me how to get going and my answer is always the same. Stop planning, stop talking about it, just sit down and start writing – about anything. The best way to learn, the best experience for developing any idea or business is just to start doing it. Yes, you will fail, everyone fails. But if you learn from your failures on your journey, you will have successes.

  11. Thank you, that’s exactly the hint I needed, that it’s normal to fail often and – if you’re also a bit lucky – sometimes a gold nugget comes along! You really deserve your success after so much engagement! My highest respect!

  12. You did not fail..You TRIED…Learned..and then tried again and became successful.. You fail when you stop trying…

  13. The book The New Rules of Making Money That Lasts literally felt like a roadmap to freedom.

  14. This is so relatable! It’s easy to feel discouraged by failures, but your video is a great reminder that they’re just stepping stones to finding what really works. Thanks for the encouragement!

  15. This video is a great reminder that success isn’t about avoiding failure, but about learning from it and keeping going. The “try-apreneur” mentality is so important! Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring others to take action.
